Amboseli National Park: landscape and origins
Amboseli is one of Kenya's two premium parks – and the only park with a package ticket covering both Tsavo parks.
The Kenya Wildlife Service fee schedule titled “Conservation Fees 2025” – linked on kws.go.ke as a PDF with the file name “October 2025” – places Amboseli together with Lake Nakuru in the top category, the Premium Parks. Foreign adults pay 90 US dollars there, children and students 45. The park page shows the same amounts.
The definition is what matters: a daily fee covers a single entry into the park and is valid for no more than 24 hours. If you spend two nights at a lodge inside the park, you pay 90 US dollars again for each person for every 24 hours.
A child is anyone aged five or older and under 18. Yet among its exemptions the same schedule exempts “a child aged five years and younger” – if you travel with a child aged exactly five, the schedule gives two answers.
For round trips there are packages: Tsavo West and Amboseli together cost 150 US dollars, both Tsavo parks and Amboseli 215 US dollars for adults. You pay through eCitizen; the button on the park page leads straight to the Amboseli page.
