What the daily fee does not cover
Vehicle, crater, tax and ticket validity differ from park to park.
Kruger
Conservation fee per person per day; tariff until 31 October 2026, then a new SANParks tariff.

Plus 18% VAT. The vehicle fee ($40 up to two tonnes) applies to commercial and foreign vehicles, so usually to the tour operator.

Each permit is valid for one entry within 24 hours. Crater fee $295 per vehicle and descent.

A ticket is valid for 12 hours, from 6 am to 6 pm. Plus a vehicle fee of about 1,000 Kenyan shillings per day.

For two adults between €29.81 in Etosha and €356 in the Maasai Mara from July to December, park authority fees only.
Do I pay VAT in the Serengeti?
Yes. The tariff list states $70 per adult per day plus 18 percent VAT, so $82.60.
How much does the Ngorongoro Crater cost?
$70.80 per person aged 16 or older per day, plus $295 per vehicle for each descent into the crater.
When is the Maasai Mara cheaper?
From 1 January to 30 June: $100 instead of $200 per adult per day.
