  1. Expected

    Kruger: new SANParks tariffs expected from 1 November

    The current tariff runs until 31 October 2026. SANParks traditionally changes its conservation fees on 1 November; no new amount has been published yet. It will appear here once it is.

    Durmitor: rise to €8 proposed, not adopted

    In early September the authority proposed raising Durmitor to €8 in June, July and August and to €6 otherwise. When we checked on 25 Sep 2026, the price list still showed €5. Many travel sites already list the €8 as current.

  3. Rule

    Mount Revelstoke and Glacier: stopping in the park needs a pass

    Mount Revelstoke, Glacier (Canada)

    The park superintendent has ruled that anyone spending time in the park needs a pass. Without one you may only drive through on Highway 1 without stopping, use a public toilet or stop in an emergency.

    Parks Canada: free admission in summer, regular fees again since 8 September

    With the Canada Strong Pass, admission to all Parks Canada places was free from 19 June to 7 September 2026, and camping and accommodation cost 25 percent less. Regular fees have applied again since 8 September, for example $12.25 per adult per day in Banff.

    Since 1 April 2026, foreign adults pay N$280 instead of N$150 per day, and a vehicle with up to ten seats costs N$60 instead of N$50. The fee is charged for every day started, not once per stay.

    On 18 February 2026 the park announced that it will not use a timed reservation system in 2026. The entrance fee and, for non-residents, the surcharge still apply.

    Teide: first visitor levy, on two trails only

    Teide

    The park itself still charges no entrance fee. Since 2026 the first visitor levy applies only to trail PNT 10 to the summit and PNT 07 via Montaña Blanca; residents of Tenerife pay nothing there.

    Anyone aged 16 or older without a US residence pays $100 on top of the normal entrance fee at eleven of the busiest parks, also on commercial tours. Two adults in a car at the Grand Canyon now pay $235 instead of $35.

    USA: annual pass for visitors from abroad $250 instead of $80

    Since 1 January 2026 the nationwide annual pass costs $250 for people without a US residence; the $80 version is reserved for US citizens and residents. The pass covers the whole car and removes the surcharge at all eleven parks.

    Montenegro: one annual card for all five parks

    Since 26 December 2025 the authority has sold an annual card for 2026. It is valid without limit in all five national parks and costs €13.50; at the day rate of €5 it pays off from the third day in a park.

    Kruger: conservation fee rises to R602

    SANParks raised its daily conservation fee on 1 November 2025. Since then, international adults have paid R602 instead of R535 per day in Kruger National Park; the tariff runs until 31 October 2026.
