Chile's forestry agency CONAF runs 110 protected areas, including 46 national parks, together 18.8 million hectares or 21 per cent of the country. The oldest is Vicente Pérez Rosales, founded in 1926, the largest Bernardo O’Higgins with 3.5 million hectares. This atlas covers Torres del Paine National Park in full – fees by origin, tickets online a day ahead, the W Trek only with reservations – and the day hike to the Base of the Towers.

Fees by origin

At Torres del Paine adults from abroad pay CLP 32,400 a day, Chileans and residents CLP 9,400. Children up to 12 are free. Details in the fees section.

Tickets online with Pase Parques

CONAF sells tickets for the 48 most visited protected areas through Pase Parques. For Torres del Paine you must buy at least 24 hours ahead.

W Trek only with reservations

If you stay overnight on the W or the O, you need confirmed places with Las Torres Patagonia or Vértice Patagonia beforehand; without them you cannot enter the mountain area. Details under where to stay.
