Cinque Terre National Park: landscape and origins
You enter the park itself for free. You pay for its most famous trail — and if you travel by train, you buy trail and train in one card.
The Cinque Terre Card has existed since 2001. The park authority calls it a services card and a form of self-financing: the money goes first into maintaining the trails and terraces and into mobility in the park. It is only required on the Sentiero Verde Azzurro between Monterosso, Vernazza and Corniglia and on the Via dell'Amore.
For 2026 the park reorganised the Train Card: the former Card Plus was dropped, and the Via dell'Amore is now included in the Train Card. Its price follows three bands that Trenitalia sets in its calendar. The Executive Board adopted the fares on 30 December 2025; for the two-day card in band C the resolution gives €61.50, the park's fares page €61.
The Trekking Card has its own, simpler calendar with 31 peak days on which the day price rises from €10 to €15. Children under four need no card if they travel with an adult holding a valid card.
If you take the train only once, you pay the fare 39/9 Cinque Terre: €5 to €10 per journey, depending on the day. For comparison on a band A day: the Train Card costs €22, a Trekking Card plus three single tickets €25 together.
