08 · FAQ

Yosemite entrance fees: quick answers

Every answer with its source.

How much is the Yosemite entrance fee for international visitors?

A private vehicle with all occupants costs $35 for seven days. On top comes a $100 surcharge for every person aged 16 and over without US residence. Two adults in a car therefore pay $235.

National Park Service: fees and passes ↗

Is the America the Beautiful pass worth it?

It costs $250 for non-residents, covers entry to all federal parks and replaces the surcharge. For a family of four that is $250 against $435, and the pass then stays valid in other parks.

National Park Service: fees and passes ↗

Do children pay the surcharge?

No. Anyone aged 15 or younger pays neither entry nor surcharge.

NPS: non-resident fee on commercial tours ↗

Do I need a reservation to enter in 2026?

No. The park uses no timed-entry reservation system in 2026 and recommends weekday visits. Reservations for campgrounds, lodging and the Glacier Point tour remain.

National Park Service: entry reservations ↗

Can I pay cash in the park?

Not at the entrance stations; payment is by card or mobile. The America the Beautiful pass is available digitally at once on recreation.gov.

National Park Service: fees and passes ↗

Does the surcharge also apply on a booked tour?

Yes, explicitly also for participants of commercial tours. Since June 2026 operators can pay entry and surcharge in advance with a Commercial Site Pass on Recreation.gov; ask before booking.
